Meet Our Staff

 

Dr. Rhian Young

ND, BCIM | Owner of Purity Integrative Health

Dr. Young is Board Certified in Integrative Medicine and has over 14 years of experience with BioIdentical Hormones, Cardiovascular disease treatment & prevention, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Weight Loss, Digestive Disorders, Menopause and assisting cancer patients optimize treatments by integrating natural foods and supplements to reduce side effects of treatment and help with the healing process. Dr. Young received her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience and Anatomy. She then attended Bastyr University. Following graduation, she participated in a Residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma during which she was able to see first-hand how integrative medicine works to bring optimum health and healing to the patient. Following her residency, she moved back to the Seattle area and began working in an integrative setting treating patients from all over the world with issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, chemical dependency and other addictions. 

 

In January 2008, Dr. Young started Purity Integrative Health & Wellness Center with a hope of using her experiences to treat a wide variety of issues and facilitate trust and confidence to people who need help and are eager to change to make improvements to their life. Dr. Young is an avid runner who devotes much of her free time to training for half marathons with her husband, spending time with her four children and their three dogs while enjoying the beauty of the Northwest. Dr. Young and her family attend Gold Creek Community Church in Mill Creek. She considers God an integral part of her life, both personally and professionally. 

 

Dr. Fitzpatrick is a Naturopathic physician licensed in the state of Washington, who specializes in primary care family medicine. She draws from both emerging as well as long standing healing modalities to treat and work with patients. She welcomes all ages, genders, and health conditions into her practice, with a focus on treating the unique individual in front of her.

Dr. Fitzpatrick received her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology. She then attended Bastyr University. During her Naturopathic training she apprenticed with Master Herbalist Sajah Popham & the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. She has a deep love and passion for plant medicine, counseling, nutrition and the spiritual aspects of health.

Most recently she had the opportunity to practice Naturopathic medicine in an integrative medical setting in California’s rural Central Valley. She gained over 3,000 clinical hours treating and serving the underserved population. This opportunity gave her extensive experience in practicing women’s health, men’s health, alternative pain management, addictions, and mental health conditions. She is credentialed with most major insurance companies in the state of Washington and is open to new patients.

Dr. Amy Fitzpatrick

Dr. Miriam Mendelsohn

ND | Naturopathic Medicine Associate

Dr. Miriam Mendelsohn is a board certified Naturopathic Physician who practices primary care medicine, with a specialty in adolescent health and gastrointestinal disorders. She graduated from Bastyr University, where she spent many clinical hours studying with a multitude of well-respected Naturopathic Doctors and at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Additional areas of clinical experience include mental health, sexual health, women’s health, autoimmune disease, and dermatology.

Dr. Mendelsohn received her bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College where she studied art, biology and psychology. She also explored her lifelong fascination of cultural studies by pursuing classes and lectures around gender and sexuality. She utilizes this background to assist young adults navigate the complicated world of self-discovery and independence. This extends to all aspects of sexual health for patients of all ages.

Dr. Mendelsohn lives in Seattle with her partner, a small cat and a big dog. She enjoys metal working and painting in her free time. She has a long term goal of creating comprehensive online resources for teens struggling with gender and sexuality.

Charis Wolf

LAc | Acupuncture Associate

Charis Wolf, MSTCM, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.,  is a Nationally licensed acupuncturist practicing in WA state, a clinical herbalist with a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has been in practice for over 11 years and previously had 4 years of Chemistry including laboratory experience doing biomedical research.  

Charis is currently studying for her PhD at AUCM; specializing in cysts, fibroids and precancerous conditions, cancer support for the reproductive system.  Previous experience includes working Dr. Wu's Healing Clinic specializing in Women's Health, her own practice in Kirkland, and then her own clinic; Aion Health in CA where she was awarded “Best in Silicon Valley” 2013. Most recently she has moved her practice back to WA wanting to bring her expertise back to the PNW.

Charis also has experience working with pain and PTSD.  Chinese medicine is one of the few modalities that can bring immediate relief with chronic issues and even phantom limb pain. Along with the scientific aspect of her practice there is also the option of including cosmological analysis of physical issues which can explain hereditary issues and illuminate the best times to treat and move past such inherited issues.  

 

She is  devoted to promoting health and longevity through holistic treatment based on whole body wellness, and natural remedies for everyone.  She bases her practice on working with her patients on their road to wellness, respecting each person as an individual.  Treatments modalities include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, shiatsu, essential oils, herbal prescriptions, fate analysis and nutritional counseling.

 

Kaylee English

DC | Chiropractor

Dr. Kaylee English was born and raised here in Washington state. She grew up in Marysville and graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School. She then pursued her Bachelors in Kinesiology at Western Washington University in Bellingham. After watching a family member struggle with an opioid pain killer addiction, which began after that person went to the doctor for back pain, migraines, and fibromyalgia, she decided to become a doctor chiropractic. It was at University of Western States in Portland, Oregon where she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. 

 

While at UWS, she was a member of the Women's Alliance, Pediatric, Motion Palpation Institute, and Animal chiropractic clubs. She has a specialized interest in Pre- and Postnatal care for women as well as pediatrics. She has experience with treating injuries related to motor vehicle accidents and work accidents. Dr. English likes to incorporate home exercises, soft tissue manipulation, and myofascial release into the muscles surrounding the areas of injury to fully enforce the body's capacity to heal itself. She believes that we can truly heal common ailments without the use of drugs or surgery. 

 

In her spare time, Dr. English loves to read her favorite series Harry Potter snuggled up with her 2 cats and loves to explore new places and the outdoors with her husband Brandon and their dog Maya. She is currently an avid member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
